Hi jprateragg,
During the initial full backup of the files, StoreGrid will generate the signature/checksum for the backed up files and store the signature/checksum metadata into the StoreGrid sgprp.db database file. On subsequent incremental backup schedules, StoreGrid will upload the changed bytes of the modified file to the Backup Server based on the signature/checksum of the initial full Backup data present in sgprp.db database file.
After client disaster recovery, new sgprp.db will be created. Since the old sgprp.db is not available in the client, StoreGrid client performed fresh full backup to the backup server. If the SGTrash option is enabled in your backup server, then the deleted data will be stored in backup server's "<Backup_Location>/SGTrash" location.
To recover the deleted data from the SGTrash Location, please follow the below link.

Note: From our next StoreGrid release(V4.4), we have a feature called "METADATA BACKUP" that backups StoreGrid internal database files(sgprp.db) to backup server. Once disaster recovery is done, we need to restore the sgprp.db files to database storage location and then we can continue incremental backups to the backup server.
